Products We Appreciate : Paperstone

At OHV, we’re constantly looking for materials that are more efficient. This can be in terms of lighter-weight materials that create space more efficiently, materials that provide multi-tiered uses, or components that are simply more sustainable in the long term.

With Paperstone, we’ve found a suitable benchtop material, countertop material, and cabinet face material that’s made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials and a completely petroleum-free resin that is durable and does not delaminate. The fact that it comes in a variety of beautiful colors as well to compliment the wide range of fabrics and powder coating colors we’re able to conjure up - makes for a great additional element to your custom camper van build and upfit.

While we’re fans of the simple hardwood countertops and cabinet faces - we love adding unique elements to van upfits that sets each individual adventure van build. Paperstone fits the bill.

“Using Paperstone in my own van was a choice that I’ve been pleasantly surprised by. It’s not often you find such an eco-friendly material that looks great and is truly durable against camp cooking and regular use. I fully utilize my van in the backcountry, and knowing components such as my countertop can keep up is worth the ease of mind.” - Blair Sonnen, GM of Off Highway Van

What’s more - Paperstone is certified by a whole host of agencies that ensure it’s not only food safe for countertop or food prep surfaces, but it’s obtained in a way that’s safe for the environment.

We build vans that are engineered to explore the wilderness - but it’s important to us to keep those wild places safe and protected for future generations. As a partner and vendor, Paperstone is a company and product we appreciate. Utilizing materials that ingeniously incorporate recycled materials, but are proven hardwearing and unique in aesthetic is the right combination we always strive for in any vendor search with an OHV van build or product design.
